Attendance / engagement expectations
If your unit is offered On campus, it is expected that you will attend all on-campus and onsite learning activities. This is to support your own learning and the development of a learning community within the unit. If you are unable to attend regularly, please discuss the situation with your course coordinator and/or our UConnect support team.
If your unit is offered Online or includes online activities, it is expected you will engage in all those activities as indicated in the Unit Outline or MyLO, including any self-directed learning.
If you miss a learning activity for a legitimate reason (e.g., illness, carer responsibilities) teaching staff will attempt to provide alternative activities (e.g., make up readings) where it is possible.
You can enrol in this unit as either On Campus or Online student. Both student cohorts access the same MyLO site, have the same assessments, and complete equivalent learning activities. Synchronous sessions (face to face in Hobart or online via Zoom) will be adapted to the needs of students, while all students use the same asynchronous study notes, readings, and self directed tasks.
Attendance requirements
International students on a student visa must enrol in and attend the weekly On Campus tutorials (not recorded).
Online students are strongly encouraged to participate in the interactive Zoom-only sessions (recorded).
Some tutorials will run simultaneously on campus and online—see the Unit Schedule.
Student expectations
Come prepared for all tutorials by reviewing relevant MyLO materials.
Engagement and participation during tutorials are expected.
All students should log into MyLO frequently to check announcements, complete activities, and work through the study notes and required readings.
If you miss a learning activity for a legitimate reason (e.g., illness or caring responsibilities), and require guidance please communicate with the Unit Coordinator.
