Attendance / engagement expectations
If your unit is offered On campus, it is expected that you will attend all on-campus and onsite learning activities. This is to support your own learning and the development of a learning community within the unit. If you are unable to attend regularly, please discuss the situation with your course coordinator and/or our UConnect support team.
If your unit is offered Online or includes online activities, it is expected you will engage in all those activities as indicated in the Unit Outline or MyLO, including any self-directed learning.
If you miss a learning activity for a legitimate reason (e.g., illness, carer responsibilities) teaching staff will attempt to provide alternative activities (e.g., make up readings) where it is possible.
Your active engagement will be monitored in the following way:
Week 1: Discussion Board participation – Meet and Greet
Week 2: Completion of a Contract due on 3 March 2025 – a template is provided within MyLO
Week 2: Zoom meeting 13:00 on 5 March 2025 – discussion on unit expectations and assessment tasks
Week 2: Discussion Board participation – Research Ethics
Week 4: GANTT chart submission – setting out your research plan
Week 4: Discussion board participation – Research Practicalities
Week 6: Discussion board participation – Scientific Writing
The above activities are not assessed; however, you must demonstrate evidence of having engaged with this unit be completing all of the above activities. If you are unable to complete these tasks by their due dates, please contact the unit coordinator.
