In the Solution Design Report and Implementation Plan you will prioritise key issues, identify root causes and propose solutions that address them. You will also outline your plan for implementation. The Solution Design Report should describe how your solutions were developed, the specific root causes and issues each address, how they will be monitored and how they will help achieve your project’s objectives. Your Report will also include an implementation plan with timeline, risk register, required permissions, and communications plan including mechanisms for two-way feedback.
We recommend you use the template provided in MyLO. It is important that you address each assessment criterion. We suggest that you format your report with the following sections:
• Project Overview Including problem statement background, scope, SMART goals, timeline and overarching themes from your final Diagnostics Report. (approx. 250 words)
• Summary of Solutions Design approach/es and activities
• Brief description of proposed solutions
• Proposed Solutions (for each solution)
o Solution Owner
o Solution aims
o Root causes and key issues addressed
o Solution description and rationale (including any supporting literature)
o Quick wins (if relevant)
o Outcome and process measures
o Solution risks and mitigation strategies
o Critical dependencies
• Implementation Plan
o Use implementation science to provide an analysis of local context, key barriers and enablers
o Communication plan
o Detailed timelines/Gantt chart
o Resourcing/materials required
o Plan for measurement
o Required permissions
• Any supporting documentation e.g., policy, procedure, standard work, roles, and responsibilities as appendices.
Your Solution Design Report and Implementation Plan must be approved by your Executive Sponsor/manager before implementation. | | | Assessment Task 6: Reflective presentation | Task Description: |
In this presentation, you are asked to reflect on the solutions design and implementation phases. Referring to relevant literature, discuss why you chose the tools, techniques and methodologies you used and how you engaged (or would engage) with stakeholder groups to facilitate implementation. Describe how you overcame any real or anticipated challenges. Discuss how you would approach things differently next time and why.
In the second part of your presentation, articulate your program theory as either a logic model or IF-THEN statements and discuss how you would evaluate your redesign solutions. Pay particular attention to the needs of your audience (i.e., colleagues and/or your sponsor), your project objectives and how you will make any comparisons (e.g., pre/post, time series, benchmark). Include measures of process and outcome and consider how to measure any negative impacts of your solutions.
